World Water Day 2019

UN Water has published its annual Word Water Development Report which forecasts an increase of 20 to 30% in water use over the next 30 years as a result of rising demand from within the industrial and domestic sectors. Currently, an estimated 4 billion people are subject to water scarcity and this number will continue to rise as the demand for water grows and the effects of climate change intensify.

The same report draws attention to the phenomenon of rapid urbanization which pushes an increasing number of people to informal settlements (‘slums’), areas which lack clean water supplies and proper sanitation.

For the past 50 years, Berghof Membranes has been fully committed to protecting the world’s water supply, minimizing the environmental impact of industry growth, promoting sustainable water reuse, and decreasing industry’s dependency on fresh water sources. Our founders have always believed that utilizing natural resources requires a responsible approach and creating a clean environment for every generation is our mission.
